Artists of the night:
Evgenia Luzhina-Salazar
Fine Art and Design from Moscow Art College in 1980. Ms. Luzhina-Salazar’s experience includes co-founding and working as a set-costume designer for the Stanislavsky Theater Studio and serving as a resident set and costume designer for several theaters including the Moscow Chambers Forms Theater (Russia), The Heliotrope Theater (CA, USA), The Hallam Theater of Prince George’s Community College (MD), Classika-Synetic Theater (VA), and many others. Evgenia’s works have won critical acclaim in both local and national newspapers, on radio and television.The inspiration for Ms. Luzhina-Salazar’s latest collection to be shown is the “kokoshnik”, a traditional Russian women’s headdress. The kokoshnik has been worn along with the serafan dress for centuries, and is now most often seen in Russian folk costumes. John Jazz has been playing music since his earliest memories as a child. His main instrument is the saxophone, but he can also play the guitar, bass, and drums. From New York, to Guatemala, to DC, he has been DJing for 11 years and producing music for 9 years. John Jazz has an eclectic style and loves to play and believes that music is a spiritual form of expression. Music is his passion and you can hear it when he spins.
